Hardwood SIZES The standard sizes adopted by the National Hardwood Lumber Association are as follows: Standard Lengths Standard lengths are 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 feet; but not over 15 per cent of odd lengths are admitted.

In the grade of Firsts and Seconds the lengths are 8 to 16 feet; but there must not be more than 20 per cent under 12 feet, and not to exceed 10 per cent of 8 and 9-feet lengths.

Standard Thicknesses The standard thicknesses of hardwood lumber are: 1/4, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 inches.
