The common European ivy must be admitted to the flora of the Southern States as an introduced species. It is frequent about old dwellings and similar places and I have found it perfectly natu ralized on the steep, rocky banks of the Ocmulgee River, above Macon, Georgia, where it has escaped from a cemetery higher up on the hill.
