SAXIFRAGA REFLEXA Hook. Fl. Bor. Am. I : 249. pl. 85. 1833.
Several unsuccessful attempts to reestablish this rare species have been made. Taking Hooker's excellent plate as a basis, and this is all we have to go on besides his description, I find that the following numbers from the collections of the Northern Trans continental Survey, distributed as Saxifraga nivalis, are S. rejlexa :
51a Scribner, 740 and 741 Tweedy, 757 Brandegee and III Canby. These are the only representatives of S. nflexa I have seen and are all in the Canby herbarium.
