HARE, AUGUSTUS JOHN CUTHBERT English writer and traveller. He wrote guide-books to the principal countries and towns of Europe. He also wrote Memorials of a Quiet Life (1872), and a long autobiography, The Story of My Life (6 vols., 1896-190o).
