GUTERSLOH, a town in the Prussian province of West phalia, II m. S.W. from Bielefeld by the railway to Dortmund. Pop. It is a seat of the cotton industry, and has a large trade in Westphalian hams and sausages. Printing, brew ing and distilling are also carried on, and the town is famous for its rye-bread (Pumpernickel).
