HANS DER BUHELER (HANS VON BUHEL), German poet of the 15th century, was born probably in Buhl, near Ras tatt. While in the service of the archbishop of Cologne, he wrote two narrative poems. The first, Die Konigstochter von Frankreich (1400, ed. Merzdorf, 1867), was based on a 13th cen tury poem, Mai and Beaflor; the second, Diocletians Leben (1412, ed. Keller, 1841), relates the story of the seven white masters.
