HECKMONDWIKE, an urban district of the West Riding of Yorkshire, England, 8 m. S.S.E. of Bradford, on the L.M.S. railway. Pop. (1931), 8,991. It lies in the centre of the blanket and carpet manufacturing area. Coal is extensively mined in the neighbourhood, and there are machine works, dye works and iron foundries.
