HUSS, HENRY HOLDEN (1862– ), American musi cian, was born in Newark, N.J., on June 21, 1862, of Bohemian ancestry. He was reared in a musical atmosphere, and in 1882 graduated from the Royal Conservatoire at Munich. Besides playing the piano and composing, Huss has been prominent in New York as a teacher of the piano, particularly as a teacher of teachers, and his Condensed Technics, published in 1904, is used widely. His works include a piano concerto, a violin concerto and a violin sonata. He has also written a number of songs.
