HORDE, a manufacturing town' in the Prussian province of Westphalia, is 2 m. S.E. from Dortmund on the railway to Soest. Pop 34,575. It has an old castle dating from about 1300. There are smelting-works, foundries, puddling-works, rolling-mills and manufactures of iron and plated wares. In the neighbour hood there are iron and coal mines.
