HOYLAKE, watering place, urban district of Hoylake and West Kirby, Wirral parliamentary division, Cheshire, England. Pop. (1931) 16,628. It is situated at the mouth of the estuary of the Dee, 6 m. W. of Birkenhead on the L.M.S. railway. It possesses a famous golf course and racecourse.
