HUGO, a city of south-eastern Oklahoma, U.S.A., 8 m. from the Red river, on Federal highway 7o and two lines of the Frisco railway; the county seat of Choctaw county. The population in 192o was 6,368; 193o it was 5,272. It is the shipping and trading centre for a fruit-growing, farming and lumbering region ; and it has railroad shops, planing mills, creosote works, cotton gins and compresses, cottonseed-oil mills and grain elevators.
