VITTEL, a watering-place of north-eastern France, in the department of Vosges, 31 m. W. of Epinal by rail. Pop. (1931) 3,106. The cold saline and chalybeate waters are bottled and exported in large quantities. They are prescribed in cases of arthritis, dyspepsia, etc. Vittel is a fashionable resort.
