Voden a

VODEN A, a city of Greek Macedonia in the province of Pella on the railway from Salonika to Monastir. Pop. (1928) 13,743, consisting of 14% Slays and 86% Greeks. It is the ancient Edessa (q.v.). The town stands on a rocky height commanding views of Pindus and Olympus and is the see of an archbishop.
