Vyrnwy

VYRNWY (Fyrnwy), an artificial lake or reservoir in the north-west of Montgomeryshire, North Wales, constructed for the Liverpool water-supply. It was formed by damming the river Vyrnwy, which joins the Severn above Shrewsbury.

a town of Russia in the province of Tver, in 38' N., 33' E., on the Moscow-Leningrad rail way, and on the Vyshne-Volotsk navigation system, constructed by Peter the Great in 1703-9, to connect the upper Volga with the Neva. The Mariinsk system has now largely superseded it.

Saw-milling is the chief industry in this forested district, but there are also textile, glass and brewing industries.
