Wauwatosa

WAUWATOSA, a city of Wisconsin, U.S.A. Pop. 5,818 in 192o (84% native white) and was 21,194 in 193o by the Federal census. It is a suburb of Milwaukee, and is the seat of the Evangelical Lutheran Theological seminary. The city was founded in* 1847 and incorporated in 1892. The name is a modification of an Indian word meaning "firefly."
