Waverly

WAVERLY, a village of Tioga county, New York, U.S.A. Pop. 1930, 5,662, Federal census. The Pennsylvania borough of South Waverly (pop. 1,251 in 1920) is separated from Waverly only by the State line; and the neighbouring boroughs of Sayre (q.v.) and Athens (8,078 and 4,384 respectively in 192o) are also part of the same community. It was named after Scott's novels.
