WHITCHURCH, urban district, north Shropshire, England. Pop. (7931) 6,016. Whitchurch is mentioned as a borough in the 14th century. The parish extends into Cheshire. Whitchurch was famous for its turret clocks, many of those in the churches of N. Shropshire having been made there.
