Wood Alcohol or

WOOD ALCOHOL or Wood Naphtha is a colourless, vola tile, inflammable liquid, technically known as methyl alcohol (CH3OH). It is unfit for human consumption but is used largely in industry (see ALCOHOL IN INDUSTRY). It is soluble in water, ether and alcohol and its boiling point is 66.78° C. It is made by neutralizing with lime the "wood vinegar" obtained from the destructive distillation of wood.
