BULLA REGIA, ancient city of Numidia, near modern Souk-el-Arba, on the railway between Tunis and the Algerian frontier. It was formerly the residence of the kings of Numidia. Under the Roman empire it was on the road from Carthage to Hippo Regius, and received benefits from various emperors, no tably Hadrian. A theatre, a temple of Apollo facing on to a large courtyard, and some well-preserved houses have been found.
