DARTMOUTH, a town in Halifax county, Nova Scotia, Canada, on the north-eastern side of Halifax harbour, connected by a steam ferry with Halifax, of which it is practically a suburb. Pop. (1931) 9,100. It contains a large sugar refinery, foundries, machine shops, saw mills, skate, rope, nail, soap and sash fac tories and also the Imperial Oil Works.
