DAYLESFORD, a town of Talbot county, Victoria, Aus tralia. Pop. c. 5,000. It lies on the flank of the Great Dividing range, at an elevation of 2,03o ft. Much wheat is grown in the district; gold-mining, both quartz and alluvial, is carried on, and there is a mining school. Near the town are the Hepburn mineral springs.
