ELMSHORN, a town of Germany, in the Prussian province of Schleswig-Holstein, on the Kriickau, 19 m. by rail N.W. from Altona. Pop. (1933) 17,374- Its industries include weaving, dye ing, brewing, iron-founding and the manufacture of leather goods, boots and shoes, margarine, sugar and machines. There is a con siderable shipping trade.
