ELSTER, a spa, in the Land of Saxony, on the Weisse Elster, close to the Bohemian frontier on the railway Plauen Eger, and 20 M. S. of the former, has industries of lace-making and weaving, and a population of (1933) 2,205. The mineral springs, saline-chalybeate, have been supplemented by baths of various kinds, and these, together with natural attractions make the place a summer resort.
