THE ENGLISH HAWTHORN (C. Oxyacantha, Linn.). Grows wild in Europe and Asia. We plant it extensively in the United States. Its leaf is deeply cleft, often like the parsley haw. Many varieties of the parent species are grown :or their showy flowers, some white, some pink, and for the hand some, coral-red, clustered fruits.
