I (Heart) Commentful

I chat with my friend Wess quite a bit about the blogs we manage, and he often asks me if I’ve seen the crazy comments he’s had. Without fail I’m about a week behind on checking comments and I end up having to catch up just to figure out where the conversation has gone. Some of you are saying, “But Chris, why don’t you just Sub with Bloglines and put all of the discussions your watching into your feed-reader… like you’re supposed to do.” The problem is that for me, Bloglines has become my canon of what I read, and to add or subtract to my list seems morally wrong on a cosmic level. You don’t touch Bloglines!

Today Wess passed on the URL for Commentful, a site that seems to be the solution to my problems. It’s a neat little feed aggregator that automatically expires a feed after X number of days or hours and which has a nifty Firefox plugin that blinks when a comment has been added to a feed. Also, it has Web 2.0 subtle gradients. So now, all I have to do is mark a discussion as something I want to watch and Commentful keeps me up-to-date.

Anyone else doing something similar to this but with a different tool? I’d love to find out.
