New Downloads are Available

We’ve finally got around to putting up some of our beta / public release software and we’d love for you to give it a try. Make sure to check out our new WordPress theme called “Subtle.” Not only does it look decent, but it also has support of WordPress widgets, making customization a snap. Check it out and let us know what you think.

What a great find! Thanks for all the goodies and the photos. You have yourself a new fanboy :)

I run a personal blog and am planning a web 2.0 and Gardening Blog. Subtle is exactly what I was looking for and appreciate them. I was wondering if you could email me and let me know if you the the PSD’s avialable so I could give each of my sites their own personality.

Regards…

Dennis - I realized that I forgot to package the PSDs in the archive this afternoon. Here’s a question - would you prefer the entire PSD or just something that allows you to create the headers? Also, I’d love to know if people would be interested in something that might automatically generate the header through the WP interface.

I am familiar with PS so I thing the full PSD would work best for me.

Also has anyone else reported that Wordpress does not find the style sheet when uploaded?

Dennis - not yet. I literally uploaded the files here yesterday. Which version of WordPress are you using?

Also, I’ll try to get a sanitized version of the PSD up on the downloads page in the next day or so.

Actaully I found the style sheet problem. I helps if you put it in the right spot. Kicking myself.

As far as the PSD…that will be great. Just let me know.

Thanks….

Hi! I download your theme but… where is the link to go into the administration panel?

Domy - I didn’t put in the usual “meta” section - in fact, since it uses widgets I left the sidebar bare - but you can always get to your admin panel via http://yoursite.com/wp-admin/

If there’s enough of an interest in having a link to the admin panel, I’d be glad to drop something in.

Hi Christopher.

What are “widgets”?

Domy, check out http://automattic.com/code/widgets/ or http://widgets.wordpress.com/ for all the details.

[Edited for correct name.]

I understand! I download the plug-in! Thanks ;-)

My nickname is Domy, not Donny!!!

Sorry about that, Domy. I fixed it.

Hi, can you tell me what plug-ins are you using? Because when I clicked
the date under “Information” and “From This Author”, no page is available.

Lavender - It’s because I hard-coded the URL, assuming a particular permalink structure. That’s definitely a significant bug. I’ll look into building a URL based on the blog’s specified permalink structure.

Does the flickr feed badge work with version .2? And is there any modificatios that need to be added to the template to get the plugin to work, cause i dont see any of the photos showing up on my site.

Jason - are you getting photos showing up in the preview area on the options page?

the image names are showing up in the preview which link to my photos when i click on them

fixed it, i basically had to edit the home.php template and add the echo line to output the flickr feed.

Hi, I dl’d and installed the Shiny theme. I have encountered only one problem. When I click on ‘The Archives’ in the Menu, it tries to load a page ending in /tag/

I don’t have a file in the theme directory with that name, so it just loads a 500 Internal Server Error.

Is there something I need to do to get that page setup? Thanks!

Cymber - Unfortunately, Shiny is just a mess and it does stuff like this without a very specific setup. If you visit DPBlogs.com you’ll see that we set up our permalinks to work using /tags/ as and option in the URL. Try something similar and I think it will work for you.

Christopher - That tip worked great! Everything is working fine now, thanks so much!

Hi there. I downloaded your Flickr plugin tonight but am having a few problems. I can only get images to show up in the preview area when adding the optional description field. Also, the overlays don’t appear to be working for me.

I have all the files inside of a folder called flickr_feeder within the plugins folder. I’ve confirmed that the cache folder is writeable.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi there. I actually love the Shiny theme. It works great for me too. I ran into the same problem with the archives page. Cymber: (or anyone who knows) how exactly did you get the archives to work? Did you change the permalink structure? and if so… to what??
