Subtle Theme - Version 0.32

New ReleaseI’ve been promising it, and now version 0.32 is here. Our live test on Shooting the Kids has gone well, and so I feel like it’s time to release it to the public. We’ve incorporated a number of bug fixes that you all brought to our attention and we’ve made a few changes that should make using Subtle a little easier.

Also, if you’re reading this from the website, you’ll notice that we’ve updated Subversive to work with 0.32+, called it Subvert, made it work with uploadable headers, and packaged it with the base Subtle install. So if you’ve been wanting a darker version of Subtle, just download and install Subtle 0.32. Keep reading for more information about this release.
Here’s what’s changed:

  • Changed the Theme Style upload system to support WordPress MU and to apply upload to current style
  • Fixed bad XHTML nesting
  • Fixed widget CSS (includes floats not working right)
  • Updated widget support to include ads and archive sidebars
  • Cleaned up line spacing in layout.css
  • Updated advert widget blocks
  • Print rules on Subtle
  • Fix “take a peak” to “take a peek”
  • Add option to stop comment box float
  • Built revised version of Subversive, called Subvert

The biggest update was the header upload system, which now checks to see if the Theme Style you’re using supports uploadable headers and will use the style’s upload header script to generate a header that works. We’ve also added the ability to reset the header to the default, if you decide you don’t like the uploaded one. This all works with WordPress MU, saving individual headers for each hosted site. If you’re using a customized header with 0.3 or 0.31, you will want to back up your files before using 0.32, since your uploaded header will be overwritten.

We’ve also widgetized most of the sidebars (except for the post meta information box - that will come in a bit) so you can change the way pretty much everything looks. We’ve also added widget areas that work well with AdSense and TLA, so dropping in ad-support is a little easier now. There might be some CSS bugs with spacing with the ad-blocks, so let us know if you come across any.

I think that’s it. If you have any questions or run into problems, just let us know. Thanks for helping us with each Subtle release - we really value your input!

If i’m not mistaken, your download still points to the 0.31 version…
Maybe i’m just too quick at finding your latest release!

David - since I’ve got Subtle in an SVN repo, I figured I’d just overwrite the download, so it should actually be 0.32 with the same filename. Try it again - maybe your browser was caching.

I used Safari this time and it seems to have downloaded the correct file :)

Christopher- excellent design! It matches our header banner perfectly. I’m having a minor problem with the archive section. When I click on an article in archives, it doesn’t go directly to the article. I always have to click on “next page” to view it. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Terrence - I’m not sure why it would do that. What plugins are you using?

Plugins: WP Database Back up, WP-cache, sidebar widgets, and others…
what it is doing is, when I click on any article, it returns to the first page of Archives. I have to click on “next page” to veiw the article.
For example, an article with a permalink looks like this: …./archives/479 which is actually the first page of the archive (not the actual article). After I click on “next page” to view the actual article, it looks like this: …/archives/479/page/2/

Terrence - Do you only get this weirdness on Subtle? It seems like you’ve got something odd going on with your permalink settings / .htaccess file. Subtle uses standard WP template functions, so I have the feeling it’s a problem with your install. Check out your permalink settings and let me know if you can get it working.

Great release with many bug fixes. One minor problem with IE is when you begin to type in the comment box (Write a Comment) the box and scrollbar expand to the right outside of the Write a Comment container.

Hi again! I got your Glued Ideas- Subtle 0.31 in my website. I had to reinstall wordpress like 5 times in order for it to work properly. Not your fault but because I am new to wordpress and web building I just have no clue so it started as a trial and error for me. Aftter sleepless nights I have finally had it all loaded and looking good so far. I have yet to modify the header or that little “i” icon on the right side because I don’t know where to do it. But I love the green anyway so that’s ok. There is just one thing that I couldn’t solve that I so beg for you to please help me. Here’s the problem: when I click a certain post it takes me to the Site Archives and then I have to click Next Page arrow in order to see the entire post and make comment. I noticed that none of your sites have the Next Page arrows, now where did mine come from..lol Also I do not have that Continue Reading at the bottom of each post like what you have on yours. What I have is just the Leave a comment link which when I click has the same problem that I mentioned above. It takes me to the Site Archives page and then I have to click Next Page again to get to the Write a Comment table. Will you please help me on this one. Thank You in advance.

It’s me again. I was reading through the comments and sae that I have the same problems with Terrence. I am using Firefox and it looks good but when I check it with the IE browser the 3rd column in my right sidebar goes down under the 2nd column. It looks weird. I will try to upgrade to the latest and see if that will fix something. Thanks!

I love the theme and the Subvert style as well. Just updated my blog to it, and Subvert solves the main thing that was bugging me - seperate Widget sidebars for the Archive and Page templates. I haven’t played with the Advert sidebars though to see where they end up (any hints? :-)).

Great work overall! I plan on digging in and tweaking my own style once I get a better feel for the theme.

Is there an easy way to make the header bigger than 820×145? Something like 820×290. Thanks.

hey Chris,

Thanks for the update I love the theme! I’m still having the side bar placement problem while viewing my site with IE. With Firefox I’m still having the same searchbar placement problems and also the side bar going under my posts on the about and contact page. I don’t think it is your theme I think my wordpress is cacheing or saving some file from the previous subtle themes or something because, even though I delete the whole subtle theme folder and replace it with the new one, when I reinstall the newer version the “site description” in the “current theme options menu” is retained?

any ideas on how I can cure this probem? reinstall wordpress? How can I do that without losing all my previous posts etc.??

haha sorry for being so clueless I’m new and trying to learn.

Kevin - basically the ads work out to 1) Top of all pages, 2) Bottom of all pages, 3) Between a post and it’s comments.

Anders - Next theme! :) Actually, with Theme Styles you can edit pretty much all of the original CSS and still maintain compatability with the original codebase. Go into your /styles/ folder, copy the default folder and rename it, select the new folder in “Current Theme Options” and begin playing. You can even build a new header generator script, if you want to get your hands really dirty.

Eli - I just checked your site and I think it’s actually your copy of IE that’s caching the old CSS. Try clearing your cache and view it again. Should be fine now. Also, to reset your settings in Current Theme Options, just click the “Reset” button next to the “Save” button.

Very nice job guy. I’m currently COcomment tracking method to follow all my posts. a script in the comments.php file is used to permit people to track there own comment. but this tool integration on my comment page is messing. can you help me to solve this issue ?

thanks

Once again I must heap my praise upon you and your theme. It truly is a masterful work of art. I’ve always had an aversion to using one theme on multiple blogs, but I am finding harder and harder to NOT use this theme on my various web sites. When I figure out how to manufacturer more hours in the day I’ll make it a point to create some new styles.

Wow amazing theme. No if only it were a K2 Mod….

Jean - GREAT site. We’re thinking about providing translation files, so if you’re interested in providing something for French, let me know. About COComment - it seems to be active, but what I’m noticing is that it’s got problems with sizing it’s box. IE does the same thing with the comment box, so I think I’ve got some duplicated DIV sizes that don’t agree. I’ll check that out.

Don - Thanks! I used to feel the same way, but I’ve since moved pretty much every blog I host to Subtle. It’s just way too easy to create a new, totally different style, and use the same generic codebase for everything. I’m glad it’s working for you!

Bluesaze - Unsleepable is still my favorite WP theme, even though I don’t use K2. I think the reason I don’t use K2 (and K2 mods) is that it was built during a time when WP wasn’t as robust as it is now, and so it pulled off tricks that you can pull off these days with the base WP install and Widgets. K2 really inspired some of the coolest features in WP2, sort of like a test-bed for cool ideas. All of that to say, I can’t imagine Subtle will have a K2 port… but then again, you never know.

Christopher - exccellent work! Unforuntely, I doubt I’ll be upgrading since I’ve put a lot of work into customiizing Subtle .3, but I do have a quick question.

I’ve dug around for hours and cannot figure out how to limit the amount of previous posts on the homepage and the “custom, user-created pages”. I would really like to limit it to 5, but I can’t seem to find the appropriate spot in the code. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Jim - great work on your customizations! Very well thought-out.

To limit the number of posts go to your Dashboard and go to the Options -> Reading page. What you’re looking for is “Blog Pages: Show at most”. That defines the number of posts that show in both archives and the front page.

We really need a way for people who are using upgraded HTML to get a be able to upgrade without ending up with overwrites. Any suggestions out there?

@Christopher: I translated all i think possible in french in your theme.I don’t think that the cocomment issue is from your part of the job because the thing that they used to call cocobar is a script copy/paste at the end of th ecomments.php that is looking for *.js on cocomment servers. But if you find a way to solve this well let me know. If you need me form some translation, don’t hesitate to contact me using the email adress provided.

I downloaded the new release and really love all the additions and updates. I was able to make Flickr feeder work and successfully upload my Flickr album in my Photos page. I was also able to have a favicon for my site. I really made some good progress but I still can’t figure out how to make the “Continue Reading” to appear and the “Leave a comment” to go directly to the comment box. It had to go to the Archives first. I deactivate all my plugins and see if it will work but it didn’t so I put some of them back. Can you please take a look at my site? Will anybody else out there help me, please?

I hope you don’t think that I am stalking you or something. I keep posting on this page because I have never get a single reply. So I said.. yeah maybe he just don’t have any answers for my stupidity. I am already grateful for your theme and I really do not want to bother you with my ignorance in web building so I am trying hard to learn as I go on. As of this time, I just wanted to let you know that everything seems to work fine. There was only that Continue Reading link that I cannot make to appear whatever happened to that one, I have no idea. Thanks again!

This is an amazing plugin. Thinking of moving to it from unsleepable. However I can’t get any of my sidebar widgets to show up at all. I have dragged them all to sidebar 1 and no go. They don’t show up at all. Where should they be going? Thanks a lot in advance.

First and foremost, I love the theme. Second, I was wondering if you could help me understand the best way to implement the FAlbum plugin with this theme.

my blog is located at: http://vincentbrown.com/blog/

and my photo page at: http://vincentbrown.com/photos/

Thanks in advance for anyone who can help.

Wow, I have been looking at all these sites using this wonderful theme and they all have their sidebars working. I honestly have no idea why mine aren’t. All other widgetized themes I have used work just fine. But no matter how hard I try I just can’t get any widget to show up with this theme. I have dropped a widget into every possible sidebar area with no luck at all.

I am totally stumped…. :(

Chris, I downloaded .32 and I get a message in wordpress that I have broken themes. That I’m missing a style sheet and template for my assets and styles. Any clue?

Melanie - As I mentioned to Terrence (who seemed to have the same problem) - it looks like your problem with WordPress sending you all over the place has something to do with your permalink settings or a misconfigured .htaccess file. Since Subtle uses all standard WordPress tags for permalinks, the answer to your problem is somewhere in the install. Check out the support forums for WP and see if anyone has similar problems.

Mike - I’m stumped too! Is anyone else having trouble getting widgets to display correctly? As I said before, I think it’s a character-set issue with Widgets, but I don’t have the time to debug it to be sure. If you end up getting it to work, I’d love to know what you did.

Val - I haven’t seen that. How did you handle installation?

Chris, I uploaded the zip file to my wp-content/themes. There’s 2 folders called assets and styles that go into the directory, then the rest goes under. There is no glueideads_subtle folder. Does that make sense?

Christopher– So you too are having the same problem? I have been trying to dig away at the code and googling to all ends of the earth but I am coming up with nothing. I am tempted to start a brand new blog on a subdomain to see if that works, but I don’t really want to do all that work just to troubleshoot a problem that probably has a very simple answer/solution. Know what I mean?

I am having trouble in the ‘current theme options’ with the ‘categories to display’.

I want only the following two categories on the front page:

latest-articles
news-from-the-net

When I list them with commas like so:

latest-articles, news-from-the-net

I get the message: Oops - There’s Nothing Here

However, if I play with it and only put one category in that field, then it shows those articles from that one category fine.

How do I get this to work? Also, since I just want those two categories on the front page, will this option (when working) create two sections on the front page? For example:

Latest Articles:
followed by the articles

News from the net:
followed by the articles

If not, anybody know how to get this effect? Nope, I don’t know how to write css so if someone could provide me with the code that would be great lol

Here is an example of what I would like:
http://dpblogs.com/

I see the two categories as being:
recent blog entries
recent feature articles

Except I would like mine on top of each other instead of side by side.

Thanks!

also it would be great to still have the ‘previous articles’ section under both categories.

Thanks!

hellow, how about the PSD ?

Christopher - Congratulations once again on the release. I searched high and low for a Wordpress theme before coming across - and falling in love with - Subtle.

I am having a small issue with Categories.

A post with lists displays fine on the home page and individual post page.

But then I click on the category for that post, it displays that any other posts in that category without all the formattting.

Single post:
http://3mobilereviews.com.au/2006/07/25/lg-u300-3g-on-a-budget/

Category post:
http://3mobilereviews.com.au/category/lg/u300/

Do you know what might be causing this?

This theme is amazing. Amazingly cool! You guys have really harnessed the power of Wordpress’ template engine to make a powerful, versatile, Web-2.0 theme! Keep it up! :D

I’m trying to use an alternative header but I get an error saying that the header folder should be writable. Were should I place this folder?

Mario,
The folder is called ‘header’ and it is in the specific style folder you want to change the header for. If you want to change the header for the default style then you need to make sure the ‘header’ directory in that style directory is writable by your webserver.

I’m experiencing a peculiar issue I cannot seem to figure out. I replaced the header on my personal blog at TheFarlands.Net and the first image to show up is the default. When I click on the home link the header changes to my custom header. I’m seeing this on two out of three installs. I’ve tried clearing the cache, using different browsers and different systems it does the same thing.

Hey Chris,

thanks a lot again for a nice theme. I appreciate your work highly.

Check out my blog if you got time !

Hey Chris - just one quick question. How do you make that “Our Thoughts” summary of your recent posts in this sidebar? Is that a widget I need to download? Thanks again for the awesome theme! I really love it! I am getting ready to put together as a post what widgets and plugins I used that have worked and what didn’t also I was able to work around some issues that way my website won’t look weird in IE. Many Thanks!

Thanks for a very excellent theme. Has anyone tried viewing the default style in Safari 2.0.4? There’s a serious graphics glitch. Pls look here : http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/2689/1155650277fullsm3.jpg

Anyone has any solution?

I installed your theme but an error came up under Presentation:
gluedideas_subtle/style.css is not readeble. Anny suggestions??

Same problem as Val in post 27. Although I created the glueideads_subtle folder…

I’ve implemented the Subvert version and I LOVE it. Two things though:

1. The info box does not render properly in IE (alignment shifts to right and out of border)

2. Really like my post pages to have a site feed, rather than a comment feed by default. I’d take both :)
3. I can’t seem to edit much of anything on the post page sidebar without actual coding. Hope some customisable options for the postpage sidebar is coming soon.

Hey Christopher,
I wanna thank you for this wonderful theme. I’m using it for a new weblog right now. But I’ve got a problem with the “custom header” feature. I uploaded my header and everything worked great, but when I try to change the header again, I get the following message:

“Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 3120 bytes) in /srv/www/web215/html/wp-content/themes/subtle/styles/1000ff/generator.php on line 29″

I can assure you that the new header I uploaded is less than 15 KB.
You got any solutions for this problem?

I figured it out. Boy, you’re one popular person! One more question…When I go in to leave a comment, I get a blank page. I have to refresh the page to get the comment box. Then when I submit the comment, I get a blank page again then I have to refresh again. Do you think the issue is?

Hi, Have tried both versions of the theme. Very nice job. One problem which is the same with both: I’ve uploaded a header which displays fine when I type the www before my site URL: ie http://www.ronglish.com. However, when I omit the www, ie ronglish.com, the default header appears. ANy ideas?

Where do my trackbacks appear? I did some trackback testing but it doesn’t seem to be popping up in my comments?

Christopher : I’ve got a little issue about Article title font size. I tried to modified H1 in layout.css to reduce titles size from 24px to 22px but nothing seems to be ok. do I need to change it also in default.css or what ?

thanks for your help.

Tim: I just wanted to let you know that you helped me realize exactly what the issue I was having with the custom headers. I suspect that the issue might have something to do with what your site URL is set to in the WordPress options. I plan on testing some things today and will post my findings.

TheFarlands.Net>/a> - works
http://www.TheFarlands.Net>/a> - broke
RedHaven-IS.com>/a> - broke
http://www.redhaven-is.com>/a> - works

The site URL for TheFarlands.Net was set to http://thefarlands.net when the header was uploaded. The site URL for RedHaven-IS.com was set to http://www.redhaven-is.com when the header was uploaded. I changed it to http://redhaven-is.com and saw no change. I am going to try uploading the header with the new site URL setting and see if that corrects the problem.

Tim: I’m still not certain as to the why, but the fix is very simple.

Upload the custom header via the upload function in the theme.
Inside the headers directory for the style are your new automagically generated header files.
Backup the original header.jpg and header_menu.jpg files in the style’s root directory.
For default based styles, rename the files to header.jpg and header_menu.jpg and copy, move, or upload those to the root of the style directory. For subvert based styles you only have one file and thus only need to replace the header.jpg file.

Chris: Have you considered a forum for technical threads?

Thanks Don, that makes sense. I was playing around with overwriting the files manually alright, but it misalligned everything. However, I forgot there was two files to overright with the default. Will try it tonight and let you know.

Cheers
Tim

Val - I’m glad you got it figured out. I actually had the same problem with your site, but it did it with every single page. Don’t know what’s going on there, but I also don’t know why it would be caused by the theme. Do you have that problem with other themes?

Kirshan - There’s definitely a problem with the multiple category selection. I’ll take a look at that. As far as the split category stuff - that’s probably for a different theme. :)
Raffaell - the PSD is available on the download page.

Anthony - thanks! Looks like you’re using K2 now, so I won’t be able to check it. I’d love to see what’s going on if you get a chance.

Christine - thanks!!

Mario - Don’s right. Let us know if you get it working.

Don - I’m going to devote another comment just to this problem.

Shyam - you continue to rock! I love checking out your blog. :)
Melanie - the Our Thoughts section of the sidebar is done with a widget called Sideblog. Works great.

Gio - I’ll check it in Konqueror. It seemed like we had a universal fix to this earlier problem, but it’s popped it’s ugly head up again. Why can’t every browser builder just implement alignment math the same?!?

Ron - I don’t think you’re getting the same problem. I’m not sure at all why it wouldn’t work, since it seems you installed it correctly. Maybe a corruption occurred in the download?

James - that is REALLY weird. The problem is that it’s only weird on your page - it doesn’t show up like that on other installs. I have the feeling that there’s something in your posts, or maybe the HTML you use in the info box, that is messing with the formatting. Try putting some plain text into the info box and let me know what happens.

Simon - WOW! That’s definitely something to check. I wonder if there’s some sort of session caching going on somewhere else that is taking up alloted memory?

James - trackbacks are displayed correctly in the theme. Check your settings to make sure that trackbacks are allowed on your install.

JeanLaurent - When making edits, ALWAYS copy the /styles/default/ folder and work from that copy. Only edit default.css, since editing layout.css is a good way to make upgrading your copy of Subtle very difficult.

Don and Tim - Don’s got the problem correct. When the generator script creates the header, it names it based on an MD5 hash of the hostname. The net result is that http://www.yoursite.com gets a different header than yoursite.com. This is so that it works in WPMU which creates a different subdomain for each site.

I actually did the same thing as Don to fix one of my blogs, so it’s the right way to go right now. The fix, I think, is going to require using some other piece of identifying information for the site. I’ll look into that to see if I can get it working correctly.

Thanks for the bug report!

Christopher Frazier! You are a genius! Thank you so much for this amazing theme! I just love it more and more everyday. I made the Sideblog work, Yipee! I just started putting together what I call a “Wordpress Tutorial” of what I have done with this theme and what didn’t work. For all those html and css geniuses these are probably dumb but for those who are very tech challenge like me and very new to wordpress, blogging and web building and designing etc… this is for them. I pray that I would be able to help somehow as I am so grateful for what you guys have done to the look of our family website. Your works are highly appreciated!

Christopher, can you tell me what plugin or feature you use here to get the “Our Thoughts” list in your sidebar?

I like the theme but I also had a problem with the installation.

Ron (#44) did mention the problem here before. I found out that the zip archive was causing the trouble. When I extracted the archive no gluedideas_subtle folder was created and all files had wrong rights.
I created the folder and chmodded the files. Then it started working.

Maybe there is a problem between different versions of the zip program. I’m using version 5.52 of unzip on Ubuntu linux.

@Lars: thx, that was 0ne ofthe main problems. After unzipping some files were 0 KB! Oke, I uploaded the theme andwhen I go to presentation I can select the theme but there is no preview, only a red cross. When I select the thema it activate but it’s only a white page (no pictures, nothing) with my written content. How to clear this??

Ron & Lars - That helps a lot. I built that ZIP using an older version of WinRAR. I just uploaded a version I created using 7-zip with the /gluedideas_subtle/ folder in place. I build in Windows, so rights shouldn’t be an issue, but who knows. If you don’t mind downloading and trying it out on your systems, maybe we can figure out what’s going on. Thanks!

Christopher, the new archive seems to be alright. No problem on my system.

Chistopher / Lars: I uploaded the zip and got this message in cPanel:

File Type: Zip archive data, at least v1.0 to extract

Any idea??

Oke! I unzipped and zipped it again with the WinXP build in zipper. And it works! Other question: If I go to the widget page the last collum is half vissible. So I have no “save” buttom…. Any suggestion?

Chris: Turns out the test pinger service I was using was broken… tried another one and it worked *slaps forehead*.

Anyway, I am simply delighted by this theme. Just a few minor IE rendering bugs (info box going out of main page border), and this theme is perfect.

Thank you for this new release, Subtle is my favourite WP theme!
May i suggest you to include gravatar support?
I just did it in a few lines of php and css.
Keep up the good work, thanks!

Oke,it’s running. I installed FireFox and I could go into my Widget page and scroll to the right for the save button.
In FF my site looks great, 3 coloms.
In IE 2 colloms…
Is there a fix??

Since i installed the 0.32 i got a very strange problem:
When i try to upload an header by the “Subtle options” and click on the “save” button, the browser asks to download the “themes.php” file.
This happens even if i go back to the 0.31 and try the same operation, any ideas?

@Christopher: Could you please check my last article on my blog. I don’t know why but the article layout is different between IE & Firefox, everything seems to be badly formated under IE.
Thanks

Hey guys, great work! But I have to say there are a few bugs in Safari for Mac (WebKit). The footer and the header are not in the right position (only a few pixel but it sucks).

bye!

Forget about my last comment, i’m a looser in HTML formating process ! lol

James - glad you figured it out. Errors like that always freak me out. :)
Eddie - Yes, gravatar support is on the list for the next update. I noticed that you never got your header working. I did a quick search on WP support forums and didn’t find anything about that. Are you still getting the error?

Ron - I’m seeing three columns in both IE and FF. Did you change something since you posted?

Jean-Laurent - I did the same thing two days ago when demoing WP to a friend. I ended up sticking a “More” tag before the end of a “P” tag and all hell broke loose. There needs to be some sort of error checking for stuff like that in WP.

Julius - I’m testing on Konqueror and it seems to display correctly, except for in Subvert, which I forgot to apply the 1px-fix to. Is the problem you’re talking about a 1px misalignment of the page content from the header and footer?

Hi Christoper, i did the search before commenting, you where my last chance!! :D I still can’t change the header, always getting a request to save “themes.php”.
Tomorrow i’ll test the theme on different servers, we’ll see.

Hello

Please look this site here: http://www.gatosblog.com and tell me what I did wrong?

Could I just speak to someone? I have been struggling with this for a week..

Thank you.
Jim

I have “Lightbox 2.0 Plugin” but in this theme doesn’t work :( . Any idea for how to fix it?

Thats right, its a 1px disalignment in the footer and the header. its always 1px too much right.

my second problem: ive uploaded a new header for it. it replaced it right but the startpage always shows the defaultheader and not my uploaded one (i did it with the adminpanel, not with ftp or stuff like that). i have to go to another page in my wordpress to let the page change it to the correct header. can you help me?

Update on the banner problem:
I realized that the problem exists on every action that involves the banner.. for example, the browsers asks to save “themes.php” even if i select the “Reset the Default style’s header” checkbox.
I have the GD extension correctly loaded and the version is:
[root@anakin ~]# rpm -q php-gd
php-gd-4.3.9-3.15

I will definitively not reinstall wordpress to solve this.
I have the IE problem whit the widget on pages too.

Just a little suggestion, your theme is widely appreciated and has a lot of users, why don’t you open a little message board? It will be much easier to track bugs/have users feedback.

Just a suggestion ;)

@Christopher: It’s me again, your theme is going to be a very huge success in WP community, i think that you may need to create a support forum section in your blog to put all issues in solutions in it. It will be easier for people to post there problems, or to find a solution.
The second thing is that in comment area, a “remember me” sticking case will be great… any suggestion about that ? ;) thanks for all !

Hey, Does anyone know how I can get the dark color scheme like from shooting the kids? (http://shootingthekids.dpblogs.com/)

Hey guys,

me again :D
So the problems still there. Maybe Chris can take a look at it. Its in Safari, Flock (Firefox) and so on. At first theres the sexy green one and i have to change the Page to get my uploaded one.

One other thing: maybe you could post the widgets you use in YOUR wordpress (the sidenotething and the comment-thiing).

thanks you little genius :D

Hello,

On Firefox, the second line on the top bar for the links is disapeared, and on IE Beta 3 it looks all messed up. Also, how can I get the posts to appear the way they do on the gluedideas website?
Thanks
Jim

I have one small question. I’m using Sidebar Widgets on my blog but I need to include some PHP in the sidebar (Democracy Poll Plugin)…

I’ve tried to put the code into a Text Widget but it refuses to load. Any suggestions?

Chris, this is a great theme. I am enjoying working with it. Beautifully designed and programmed.

I am having one problem. Have you successfully used a static front page with it? I am trying to use Filosofo home page plugin and it works, but I get the site info stuff that you set up in the options on my front page rather than on my blog page. I want my front page to be a real simple no-sidebar static page.

Any help would be appreciated.

James, you can just get the Democracy widget plugin here. Or the King Text plufin supports PHP.

OK, everyone… per Eddie and JeanLaurent’s suggestion, we’re moving support for Subtle to the brand new Support Forums. Check them out at: http://support.gluedideas.com/. See you there!

[...] As lovely as the previous theme was (Prebuilt), I believe this theme (Subtle from Glued Ideas) is a lot more suitable. You can expect to see changes to all the design of my blog either later tonight or tomorrow. [...]
