Subtle Theme - Version 0.36


You’ve asked for it… and we built it. The latest update to Subtle is a big one with a few bugfixes and a number of important additions. Before you rush off, download the theme and install it, please note that there are changes that may affect your installation. Most importantly, Widget sidebar blocks were changed and added so that single.php (the page that displays the full post with comments) now has two widget blocks.

Other changes include a dedicated advertising script (just rename advert.dist.php to advert.php to use it), FeedFlare support for posts and now, the one thing we absolutely had to fix, the header image generator scripts now work across subdomains (and still support WPMU!). We still have a number of items on our plate for the next release, but this one should keep people happy for… a week?

Here’s the changelog:

  • Fixed “Previous Entries” to read “Prvious Page”
  • Added FeedFlare support
  • Added WPMU Feed support
  • Fixed search paging: form now submits as GET
  • Added support for Sidebar Modules
  • Added support for remembering user information on comment form
  • Added sidebar-less page template
  • Added a check to see if comments are open before displaying “Leave a comment…” text.
  • Fixed sidebar layout on single.php
  • Made single.php a three column design
  • Fixed 1px background bug in Subvert
  • Fixed generated header naming problems
  • Added widget sidebar to single post
  • Added advert.php to allow for non-widget based advert support

when i enable showing sub-page on theme options, it’s link on guid instead page_name.

the impact on this is when the page title/slug change, the link is not updated into the new page content, resulting error.

so i make a little modification on the page.php where $page->guid changed into $page->post_name, and things get working perfectly.

this is because i used to make change the title of post/pages, sometime.

Great release guys. Though, I still can’t get the sidebar to line up correctly in IE. Not that I care really… it may be my stolen CSS.

Thanks for this nice theme. I have a question regarding advert.php.
I renamed advert.dist.php to advert.php in order to use it but I can not see any changes on my blog, nothing happened. Do I have to change something else?
