How Much is Your Blog Worth?

While getting my nerd on at Shamus Young’s Twenty Sided blog (no – he doesn’t use Subtle), I noticed a link to a site that will tell you how much your blog is worth. I ran “Shooting the Kids” through this thing and it came up a little over 5K. “Not bad!” I thought. So I decided to run this site through the thing. $1,811,608.86. Whubba wuh?!? The thing must be broken. Actually – the number is pretty seriously inflated due to the fact that Subtle always points back to here, and Wordpress and FAM FAM FAM, so it’s not a super useful metric for us. Sigh…

Hello!
I too just found that site and your site. I about fall over when I seen what it said my little blog was worth.
I know I rode the short bus to school the day someone figure this little tool out but I can’t see how my little blog got figured to be worth as much as they say it is but that’s ok with me. I still think it’s pretty cool.
Well I just wanted to leave a comment about it because I did it too and was a little shocked to see what they thought my site was worth as well.

Try dnscoop.com to get values for a site. I use it all the time. Its a bit more accurate to what sites actually sell for.

Now, anyone who seriously believe that those numbers are the ACTUAL value of my site? I don’t, and that sucks.

However, I’d be happy to sell to anyone who consider my crappy blog to be worth that much!

I thought this was just for a laugh when this tool first made the rounds.

But since that bankaholic sale, perhaps I should take it more seriously
