@Danny – Right – that’s the whole thing about Subtle. The base install is totally plain-XHTML and it’s the theme styles that give it personality.

That was the clue
I just didn’t find the default.css and the layout.css doesn’t have the font-color.

@Danny – Thanks! The CSS is all in /assets/css/ or /styles/your_current_style/default.css

The best way to edit the CSS while keeping yourself safe for upgrades is to copy the theme style folder you’re using, naming it something like “default_modified” or similar and then just edit the default.css file. Have fun!

First of all: great theme. After 2 days of browsing endless theme pages I found this one here the cleanest and most appealing to the eye.

One question though (and please forgive me if I’m not a pro when it comes to CSS & Co.

How can i change the color of the headlines and links (orange by default)? I couldn’t find it in the css file. Help on this would be REALLY appreciated.

too bad you can put up a copy of the old forum as a static resource for people needing help modifying the theme. it was a really great resource.
