FRAZER, SIR James George, English an thropologist: b. Glasgow, Scotland, 1854. He became a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge, and was appointed professor of social anthro pology at the University of Liverpool in 1907. His works are of the greatest importance in the study of anthropology, and particularly of religion and myth. He is a Fellow of the British Academy, honorary Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and corresponding mem ber of the Royal Prussian Academy of Science.
