A second edition also appeared in 178283, in Ave Una rolotrem, the first of which contains the life of the author and the • Lualad; and the last the dramatic and other pieces ascribed to Canowas. A very &emirate and splendid edition of the ' Lusiad' was published. with very fine engrarlogo in ono rob Ito, by Firmin Didot at Parisi in 1817. the expense of which was defrayed by Souza Hosea°. Of this edltioo very few copies were printed, and it is now evosequently rare. The Lashed' has since been revers( times retrials!. Of the Englith translation., 1pickle's, with all its faults, pathos. best preserves the characteristics of Cunoen's style.
