AALSMEER, a town in the province of North Holland, Holland, situated in low country about tom. S.W. of Amsterdam. Pop. (1930) 8,567. It has railway communication with Haarlem and Utrecht. The flat country with its fertile sandy soil, which can be easily watered, provides ideal conditions for horticulture, and the town is surrounded by flower gardens and plant nurseries.
