ACATALEPSY. In the history of philosophy the Greek term acatalepsy was first used by Pyrrho the sceptic to express the view that the human mind has no direct apprehension of material objects. One is consequently not justified in making as sertions about what things really are in themselves. Each person can only say how things appear to him.
