ADAM, the name of a family of French sculptors. LAMBERT SIGISMUND (1700-1759) executed many pieces for the French royal residences and for Frederick the Great of Prussia. NICOLAS SEBASTIEN, his brother (1705-1778), was responsible for the tomb of Catherine Opalinska at Nancy. Another brother, FRANcOIS GASPARD BALTHASAR, executed many of the monuments at Sans Souci and Potsdam.
