ALANSI, a town in the inter-Andine province of Chimbo razo, Ecuador, about 2° 15' S. and 78° 5o' W. It is about 75m. inland on the Guayaguil and Quito railway. The town is situated in the plain of Alansi and on the river of the same name. Its chief resources are agricultural and pastoral. The population is estimated •at approximately 7,000.
