ALBANY, a river of Canada, rises in Lake St. Joseph in 91° 25' W. and so° 55' N., and flows east-north-east into James Bay; length, over 400m.; navigable for nearly half its length, to Mar tin's Falls. There are four Hudson Bay Company's posts on its banks, including Fort Albany at its mouth. The Ogoki and Kenogami rivers are the principal tributaries.
