ALLENSTEIN, a town in East Prussia, Germany, on the river Alle, loom. N.E. of Thorn by rail. Pop. The town possesses a mediaeval castle, and has courts, with superior courts at Konigsberg. The town makes machines, cement, furni ture, gloves and umbrellas. It trades in grain, leather and cattle.
