Alphonso Iv I

ALPHONSO IV. (I 29o-13 S 7) succeeded his father, Dionis, whose death he had hastened by his intrigues and rebellions, in 1325. Alphonso connived at the barbarous murder of Inez de Castro, who had secretly married his son, Peter. In revenge Peter devas tated the whole of the country between the Douro and the Minho before he was reconciled to his father.
