ANIMAL PSYCHOLOGY, the study of the behaviour of the lower animals with a view to ascertaining their mentality. Animal Psychology is a part of Comparative Psychology (q.v.), and its special interest consists in the light which it throws on the development of the human mind, and especially on human in stincts and impulses.
