ALCAZAR, B. DEL (I Spanish poet, was born at Seville. He served under the Marques de Santa Cruz and after wards in the households of the Duque de Alcala and of the Conde de Gelves. Alcazar belonged to the Italianate school and modelled himself on Martial. The grace and cynicism of Baltasar del Alca zar are manifested in his Poesias (ed. F. R. It Zarin, 1910).
