ABERCROMBY, PATRICK (1656 — c. 1716), Scottish physician and author, was born at Forfar, and educated at St. Andrews. He is best known as the author of the Martial Atchievements of the Scots Nation (fol. 1711-16), in which he had the assistance of many learned contemporaries. As a pam phleteer on behalf of the Union he crossed swords with Daniel Defoe.
