ACIDALIUS, VALENS (1567-1595), German scholar and critic, was born at Wittstock on May 25, 1567, and died at Neisse on May 25, 5595, at the age of 28. Acidalius wrote notes on Velleius Paterculus (1590), Curtius (1594), the panegyrists, Tacitus and Plautus, published after his death.
