LOCH, a town of Germany, in the Prussian Rhine province, on the Niers, 8 m. S. of Cleves. Pop. (1933) 13,249. In the middle ages it was the seat of a large trade in linen. It became a town in 1231, belonged to the dukes of Gelderland and later to the dukes of Cleves. It has manufactures of plush-goods, marga rine, oil and leather.
