HALLUIN, a frontier town of northern France, in the de partment of Nord, near the Lys, 14 m. N. by E. of Lille by rail. Pop. 13,588. The family of Halluin, which became extinct in the 14th century, is mentioned in the i3th century. Halluin has a Gothic church. The manufactures comprise linen and cotton goods, chairs and rubber goods, and brewing and tanning are carried on ; there is a board of trade arbitration.
