HORSLEY, WILLIAM (1774-1858), English musician, was born in London on Nov. i5, 1774, and died there on June 12, 1858. He was organist successively of Ely chapel, Holborn; the Asylum for Female Orphans ; Belgrave chapel ; and the Charter house. His compositions include three symphonies, but of greater importance are his delightful glees, such as "By Celia's Arbour," "0 Nightingale," "Now the Storm begins to Lower."
