INDIANOLA, a city of Iowa, U.S.A., i8m. S. by E. of Des Moines; the county seat of Warren county. It is on Federal high way 65, and is served by the Burlington and the Rock Island rail ways. The population in 193o (Federal census) was 3,488. It is the seat of Simpson college, a Methodist Episcopal institution established in 1867. Indianola was laid out and made the county seat in 1849. It was incorporated in 1864 and chartered as a city in 1884.
