ILG, PAUL ), Swiss poet and dramatist, was born at Salenstein (Thurgau) on March 14, 1875. He was engaged in business down to 1899, since when he has been an author and editor. Among his chief novels are Der Lebensdrang (1906), Der Landstortzer (1909), Das Menscjilein Matthias (1913), Der Starke Mann (1916) and Probus (1922). He has also written the dramas Der Fuhrer (1919), Der Mann Gottes (1924), Der Kamp f mit dem Drachen (1927) and Ga Llama (1928). Ilg belongs to the realistic school, and his writing is strong and direct.
