JENSEN, WILHELM German novelist, was born at Heiligenhafen, Holstein, on Feb. 15, 1837, and died at Munich on Nov. 24, 1911. He wrote some tragedies, but his best work lies in his novels, remarkable for their fine descriptions of scene and place. Among the best examples are : Eddystone (1872), Nirwana (1877), Karin (1878), Diana Akhnoba (1890), Luv and Lee (1897) and Vor der Elbmiindung (1905).
