ANTARES, a Scorpii (a Scorpionis), the brightest star in the Constellation Scorpio (q.v.), is of a reddish hue and appears at the heart of the Scorpion. It is a giant star of low density, having a diameter of 360,000,00o miles, according to measurements taken on Mt. Wilson.
